Entry #5. I decided to do more studies using my paintings. I am liking the result. Here is Hestia from Danmachi.

Anime - Momohime
Entry #4. (So late.) I decided to go back to my roots and start doing more animu influenced style art. This is my first test of what direction I might head in. Here is Momohime from Muramasa. (I fell in love with her design the first time I saw it.)

Study: Stroke Economy & Facial Proportions
I decided to take a break from the 30 days / 30 character design challenge to do some much needed studies. Also I couldn't use one of my eyes earlier today so I had a late start. I added some text and measurements to give an idea how I gauge my facial proportions in this angle.

Samus - Zero Suit KAI
A little late, but here is entry #3. The idea for this was to design a suit that's a balance between Samus' Zero Suit and Power Suit. I don't really have a good name for it, also I just wanted to use the word KAI.

Insect-Owl Girl
Here is entry #2 for my 30 days / 30 character design & render challenge. I decided to try something a little different this time. I think it is a Insect-Owl Girl.

Petmaster
Here is entry #1 for my 30 days / 30 character design & render challenge. This character is Monster Hunter influenced. I am a big fan of Zinogre so naturally the color palette started drifting that direction without me realizing. This one took 6 hours total from design to finish. It went a little bit faster than I expected.

Zero Suit Samus
Here is a print I painted last year. It seems to be pretty popular on some online hubs so I thought I might post it here on my blog as well. (Plus because of the fewer updates recently.) =_=

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner WIP
I think I am starting to figure some things out after having done the Campfire Storyteller piece. Here is a thumb of the print I am currently working on: Lady Sylvanas Windrunner from World of Warcraft sitting on the throne of Lordaeron. I have always loved her design so hopefully I will be able to do the character justice.
Edit: I removed the thumb and just replaced it with the final illustration. It was turning out too boring so I added things to it to turn it into a rock concert poster.

Campfire Storyteller WIP
Here is the piece I am working on titled "Campfire Storyteller". It is an unofficial assignment given to me by a friend. The assignment is simply to paint a scene in firelight. To make it more interesting I decided to tell a story involving a dragon and a female warrior. Hopefully the color version will go as smoothly as the grayscale underpainting. More to come.
Edit: Added a colored version. Not sure if I will go further in with renders in the future.

Character Design 1 Color Variations & Render
Here is a color rendering of the character I designed in a previous post. I only did two color variations because I already had a pretty good idea what I wanted for colors. I might add some texture overlays later to spice up the render.

Guildmarm - Dreaming of Doodle (with news about Bracchidios)
And this print is done. It took longer than I hoped (it always takes longer than I hoped =_=), but here it is. Guildmarm from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, one of my favorite video game characters from recent games. I took a slightly different approach with this piece- painted it mostly in grayscale then overlayed colors. I am not sure how I feel about this process for rendered illustrations, since it seems a little inefficient with all the cleaning up after.
I haven't decided on what I will be painting next, but it will most likely be video game related. Stay tuned.

Character Design 1
Here I did some face variations, then chose one I liked and took it to the costume design stage. The face variations took about 1 hour total. I painted one face from reference then used Liquify to create different variations. The costume designs each took about 15-20 minutes, 30 minutes per design after clean up.
Next I will either take one costume design and create more variations, or I will go straight into a detailed color render. Weapon designs to follow. I hope you guys like it!
